The Kronborg Castle is located in the ‘Sound’, a narrow stretch of water that separates Denmark from Sweden and that serves as a gateway to the Baltic Sea. The castle’s construction work began in 1574, and its defences were reinforced in the late 17th century. This Renaissance building is world know as ‘Elsinore’ for serving as the setting of Shakespeare’s masterpiece ‘Hamlet’ and it’s part of the UNESCO ‘World Heritage’ List since the year 2000 .

El castillo de Kronborg está situado en el estrecho de ‘Sund’, franja de agua que separa Dinamarca de Suecia y que sirve como puerta de entrada al Mar Báltico. Los trabajos de construcción del castillo comenzaron en 1574 y sus defensas fueron reforzadas a finales del siglo XVII.
